During this stage, both the Company's business
scopes and market share climbed a big step
up, with its profitability growing with
years. Through joint venture with large
international construction firms, the Company
approached international standards and entered
into positive cycle of "Scale Management
and Stabilized Development".
At the begining of 1995, the Company joined hand with British, Japan and local contractors to form the BCJ Joint Venture and successfully won the contract of the Hong Kong New Airport Passenger Terminal Building with contract value exceeding HK$10.1 billion. This is the largest value single contract ever committed in Hong Kong history, and is the biggest amongst the same kind in the world.
Moreover, the Company's civil arms joined hands with reknowed international contractors to obtained large-scale New Airport Core Program related projects. By setting up a pile driver engineering team, the Company successfully obtained the large diameter bored pile project for North Lantau Expressway. Futhermore, it won the building tender of CLP Black Point Power Station with a Japanese contractor.
For the building project, the Company explored aggressively the package contracting services which include design and build works. By offering this service, the Company obtained a package contract for Disciplined Services Married Quarter from ASD.
At the end of 1996, the
Company was granted the Design and Build
contract from ASD for Hong Kong Heritage
Museum and Sheung Shui Slaughterhouse. The
latter, being Asia's most advanced and largest
slaughterhouse then, ranked top grade in
world's terms of its advanced equipment
and high technology requirement.
Entering the new era of
millenium, the Company has significant breakthrough
in obtaining "high-grade, precision
and advanced" project skills, projects
from ASD and public organizations became
leading points. Large-scale and institutional
building projects obtained in recent years
included Lai King Hospital, Kowloon Hospital
Redevelopment Phase I, New Police Headquarters
Complex Phase III and Tai Po Science Park
. During this period, the Company was granted
some significant civil projects , like MTR
Station and East Rail Projects. These projects
set new frontiers for the Company's railway
infrastructure businesses.
Following the successful obtaining of HK$2.08 billion Penny's Bay for Disneyland Phase One development, the company won another HK$1.38 billion Infrastructure for Penny's Bay Development, Contract 2 in Aug 2002. In addition to HK$1.34 billion infrastructure works for development at Jordan Valley and HK$963 million Castle Peak Road Ting Kau to Sham Tseng Improvement Project that secured during late 2001 to early 2002, these projects set a sound foundation for the company's future exploration in infrastructure development projects.
In order to strengthen our competitive edge, the Company puts much effort on quality enhancement and is pledged in pursuit of product & sevice excellence if obtained the ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 Certification. During 2001, the Company won the "Hong Kong Trade and Industry Quality Award" and "Green Construction Contractor Gold Award" in a row.
By mid of 2002, the Company had undertaken 534 construction projects in Hong Kong and mainland China, with a total contract value amounting HK$ 4.53 billion. The Company's various construction projects can be found in every corner of Hong Kong, which is closely related to the economic development as well as the daily life of citizens in Hong Kong. |
